In a typical year The Old Enfield Charitable Trust administers around £250K in discretionary grants to families, individuals and community groups residing and living within the boundary EN1 EN2 and EN3 in the London Borough of Enfield.
Education grants may be for students and residents undertaking further education or training who need assistance with living costs. These can include equipment, stationery, travel and other general expenses during your course of study. Students are expected to take up loan offers and apply for accessible funding from other sources, prior to seeking assistant from the Trust.
Things to consider before you apply.
Before applying for an Education Grant from The Old Enfield Charitable Trust you will need to provide us with supporting evidence as outlined on this checklist as well as have to hand details of you and your families income and expenditure.
When applying online you can email the documents required. Please note that all applications will be deferred until all necessary documents are received. We may also ask to see additional items. If applying in person you may wish to return your documents with your application form.
The Charity expects students to take up the loan offered by Student Finance England. Applications will not be considered, if the Student Finance loan has not been taken up.
Applicants are invited to attend for an interview with our Education Committee and we will be writing to you to let you know the date of the next meeting once we receive your completed application form and supporting documents.
Please feel free to add any additional information about your interests and ambitions to your application. The more information you provide the easier it will be for us to prepare your profile to present to the Trustees.
- Evidence of your acceptance onto your course of study for the academic year
- A priced equipment list for books/ materials that are required for the course
- A copy of your halls/ tenancy agreement
- Results of any applications for funding from the Local Authority or other source towards the cost of the course including Bursary, Access/ Hardship Fund
- Evidence of your/ your parents’ income, including benefits
- Recent proof of course fees/ balance for the academic year, if applicable
- Letter from your childminder of days of attendance, time & cost if applicable
- Copies of all your bills/ expenditures
- A copy of your/ your parents’ mortgage/ tenancy agreement
- Photo I.D
- 2 x months bank statements for all accounts held and confirmation of which account is to be used
(if you are awarded a grant, we will need this to make a payment)
